Explois of Elaine. We played with them on a boat! young lads doing Radiohead songs without any singing. That sounds rubbish, but it was actually quite impressive.

Some of these have singing but still quite 'post'....
Do Make Say Think, Efterklang, Sigur Ros, Hood, Tetsuo Ewok Inferno (kinda), Silver Mt Zion, Ariel M / Papa M, Slint, Tortoise, My Cat Is An Alien..... That's all I can think of for the time being....
I can only assume Forum Police has the attention span of a gnat and therefore can't really appreciate a bit of post-rock..... I just love the projections and general goings on....

Sonic- 07-26-2005

Just remembered another more.... Múm, who are from Iceland and are quite quite lovely. The Sea And Cake who are kind of post-post-post-post.... avoid if possible / plausible. Try some Brian Eno too... it's going along similar lines... He's got a new album out but I refuse to pay more than £10 for an album, no matter what.... Any chance of the Swear going in a post-rock direction then?

Sonic- 07-26-2005

I know he's not, but if you like post-rock, the chances are you'll like quite a bit of Eno's output too.... Mmmm.... Music for Airports.... *drifts away on a cloud*

Re:
off the top of my head check Dirty Three, I'll list more later... (btw Tim it's Paul here)

Sonic- 08-02-2005

Is my taste that obscure? I'd never really thought about it to be honest.... Still... I guess bands / music like Radian, Efterklang and George Crumb could be considered quite obscure.... Or pretentious....

Sonic- 08-02-2005

Depends what you're listening to.... There's some lovely pieces for prepared piano, bur Night of the Electric Insects, from Black Angels, is quite quite fantastic. Robert Crumb tends to use a lot of sexual humour and I don't think there's an awful lot of that going on in George Crumb's music... It would certainly make for an interesting juxtaposition....

Welcome to the forum BBBlood, a man with taste almost as obscure as Sonic... Cheers Tim, I dunno, I dont think I listen to is obscure just mostly odd. Not a post rock tip but try check the Caribou record The Milk Of Human Kindness. When I can think straight I'll post up some more... and send me that cd :)
