Some facts: Anyone and everyone in any band is pretentious to some degree, otherwise they wouldn't presume that the audience might give a fuck. No art is very original these days, you can but try. The vichy Government are pretty good. Alix didn't drop out of anything. The only middle class person in this band is me. Alix is in a class of her own. Like Alix, i shared the naive idea that university might be coursing with ideology, romance and excitement. But instead it was mostly Che Guevara or I <3 NY t-shirts who 'like a bit of everything'. That disappointment certainly inspired us to make music, create our own little world, record it for posterity, and talk about it as we went along. Thats all bands do really, how original is that? You seem a little offended. Thats ok, it's better to be loathed than ignored...blahblahblah. Though, if you don't want to be confronted by pretentions I'd love to know what kind of music you do like, and what you're doing in here!? Andrew! Remove her! x

Hi Katie, thanks for the response. You're not surprised because obviously we're going to defend ourselves as a band. Duh..? did you see us in Kilburn? It's interesting to grasp a bit of your musical background. Moby........? Seriously......?! As a general rule I usually don't talk to people who like Moby. From the bands that you've name checked, I'd suggest that you go and check out something else other than us. You need to understand that the Volets are not siouxie wannabees - and (yawn) as someone who saw the banshees in the pre record deal days i know what the fuck i'm talking about. the violets in case you hadn't noticed are a three peice and although they do have a singer that scares the boys, and seemingly makes girls like you jealous, that still aint just the sum of their parts. Are YOU in a band or do you just write about this shit? I tell ya thats fucking easy.................no one is gonna throw a bottle or a glass at your writing pad, or shout abuse at you in the saftey of your own bedroom. And, if you do wanna write something relevant why not tell your readers about the music if you have a descriptive enough imaginative and the vocabulary to actually inform us what this band, sound like, or are all about. it's easy to take this piss out of strangers, hence my message. i suggest you try a bit harder next time tom phobic.
