Ooooh.... the Spitz... I've been there... it's a pretty cool place actually... when I went htey were playing this weird kind of world / drum n bass hybrid type stuff and every now and then an ageing hippy would get up and dance for a bit before going back to their coffee... quite an odd night but good fun nevertheless....

Well for what it's worth, I'm off to see Kim Gordon's Perfect Partner tonight, and I don't mind telling you lot that I'm very excitied indeed... oh yes... especially with rumours that Thurston might be making an appearance too....

I think you need Lee Ranaldo and Steve Shelley to make it Sonic Youth, though Jim O'Rourke is going to be there, as well as Ikue Mori, DJ Olive and Tim Barnes. It may well be one of those weird happenings that everyone says was really really great but no-one actually understood or particularly liked, it may be genuinely great... either way I'm looking forward to it...

Meaning that I actually have views? (Meow!)
He he... OK... top 5 you say... well... it goes, a little, something, like, this:
1. Sonic Youth
2. My Bloody Valentine
3. Six By Seven
4. Dark Star
5. Time. Space. Repeat.
Given that the Swear were number 5 on a Swear members list! :)
This is of course, my top 5 for this moment in time... it's already changed by the time I've posted this....

So was I, I love you guys really.... I must confess I don't know an awful lot about German techno folk though.... Maybe something for me to look into while I'm working from home....
Sonic- 10-11-2005
Just been on their website... very pretty I must say... the music on the other hand sounds like a bunch of angular bands getting together to get pissed and play Chas and Dave covers on a Bontempi melodica....
sorry, just calling it like I see it... no one has to agree with me or anything... :P
Sonic- 10-11-2005
I know they're not Angular and they don't sound like Chas And Dave, but they do sound like a pissed up collective of Angular types playing Chas and Dave covers on a Bontempi organ.... you know, in some circles that would be considered a compliment.....

Yup, I'm with the Tyc on this one... I'd love to hear the Deftones covering Sade.....
Sonic- 10-13-2005
Oh I agree completely, the Deftones are shockingly awful, but I'd still love to hear them covering Sade..... once.... then I'd probably leave well alone like any sane person.....
speaking of odd mash ups / remixes try this:
Enya Vs The Prodigy
Sonic- 10-13-2005
It is indeed.... Didn't get it off Limewire, but I agree, it' a great bit of software.... I might float my Big Beat remix of JPS onto the web at some point...
Sonic- 10-13-2005
Do you ever get any say over what goes on that thing? Surely you could use it to suit your own nefarious ends?
Sonic- 10-13-2005
I wasn't going to say the Swear... I was going to say Acid Mothers Temple and the Melting Paradiso UFO..... But now you come to mention it, yeah, you COULD play the Swear as well...
Sonic- 10-13-2005
You're just fishing for a rant aren't you? Seriously... wtf!??!? It sounds like a hybrid of Clannad, Steeleye Span, Rick Wakeman and Eddie Argos... what drugs are you taking and hadn't you better give them back to Syd Barret now?
