The New Cross Symphony, by Mark Sampson.
Andrew can vouch for this - it's a stonecold classic !
sample lyric:
"Goldsmiths college gave me a start,
between railway lines not far apart,
where two main roads converge."

Well... if you will go recording stuff without me.... :P I've still got my altogether more rock versions hanging around somewhere... I sometimes listen to them for nostalgia's sake... maybe it's time for some nostalgia, in keeping with the thread title....

fave track - it's a tough one. both drenched in nostagia tho'
first up is the 76 demo version of Born to Lose by the Heartbreakers (Johnny Thunders not Tom Petty!!!), slower than the original and some different lyrics too. 2nd is street fighting man by the ramones with walter lure doing the vocals cos joey was sick. both of these gems and more can be fround on the DTK (down to kill) box set on Jungle records - 2 great cd's and a dvd all for about 16 quid. it's a bargain!
